Tank Hill
Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026 (advertising added)
Tank Hill is a game made by Kode4u ("we"). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Tank Hill apps for Android and iOS, the browser version at tankhill.kode4u.tech and the Tank Hill game server.
Information stored on your device
Your progress stays on your phone or in your browser: unlocked levels, stars, coins, tanks, weapons, upgrades, settings, daily reward dates and your own best scores. It is not sent to us. Deleting the app (or clearing the browser's site data) deletes it.
Information sent to our server
Only when you use online features (Online battles, friends, the online leaderboard) does the game send the following to our server:
| What | Why | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| The player name you choose, and a 4-digit tag we add (e.g. Sokha#4821) | So friends can find you and opponents know who they play | Other players |
| A random player ID and secret code created by the app on first use | To recognise your device so your friends and rating stay yours. They are not linked to your phone number, email or device identifiers | Only our server (the secret is stored scrambled) |
| Friends list and friend requests | To show which friends are online and let you invite them | You and the friend concerned |
| Online rating, wins and losses | Matchmaking and rankings | Other players |
| Battle scores (name, score, level, mode, tank, win or loss, date) | The online leaderboard | Everyone who views the leaderboard |
| Moves during an online battle (aim, power, weapon, short emotes) | Passed straight to your opponent so both screens match; not kept after the match | Your opponent |
| Your IP address | Needed to connect; used briefly to stop spam, and kept in our web server's logs for up to 30 days for security | Only us |
Please don't use your full real name or anything private as your player name: other players can see it.
Google Play Games and Game Center
If you sign in to Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iOS), the game sends your scores and achievements to them for leaderboards and trophies. Google and Apple handle that data under their own privacy policies: Google and Apple. We don't receive your Google or Apple account details.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Android and iOS apps are free and show a full-screen ad between matches. Ads never appear during a battle. The ads come from Google AdMob. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, your approximate location (from your IP address), device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Google handles this under its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We don't receive this information ourselves.
Your choices. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice any time with the privacy button on the main menu. Anywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your phone's settings (Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads; iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking and Apple Advertising). The browser version has no ads.
"More games" list
When you leave the game on Android, it loads a list of other Kode4u games from apps.kode4u.tech. That request only includes what any web request does (such as your IP address). Tapping a game opens its page in Google Play or the App Store.
What we don't do
- No analytics of our own, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites (the AdMob section above explains what Google does to show ads).
- No access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone or files.
- No in-app purchases; coins in the game have no real-money value.
- We never sell or rent your information, and we don't share it except as described here or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your player name, friends, rating and scores while you play, so they're still there when you come back. Match moves are not stored. You can ask us to delete your online data at any time (see below).
Delete your data
To delete your online profile, friends, rating and scores, send us your player name and tag (shown in the Online screen, e.g. Sokha#4821) using the developer contact email on the Tank Hill page in Google Play or the App Store. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. To delete the progress stored on your device, uninstall the app or clear its data.
Children
Tank Hill is a cartoon game suitable for a general audience, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads are not intended for children. Online play only shares the chosen player name, never contact details. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The app talks to our server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS / secure WebSocket). Data is stored on our own server and access is limited to the people who run it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top. Big changes will also be announced in the game.
